Battlefield 3: EA Claim BF3 More authentic than Modern Warfare 3

John Riccitiello, EA CEO has claimed in an interview with Industry Gamers that Battlefield 3 is "more authentic" than the competition. Riccitiello in a complimentary interview said that the head to head clash of the Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 would be good for the industry, he did however offer a not so favourable opinion in regards to authenticity:

The honest truth is I think Modern Warfare is going to be a really good game. I think that in a weird way it's starting to feel a little to me like the Disneyland abstraction of a war game – a little bit jump the shark. So it feels a little bit like that to me. And I think there's a market for that.

I think our game is more authentic. It's definitely going to do a lot of things better. Lighting's better, physics is better, animations are better, particle effects are better, vehicles are better. I think there's a lot of things to like about our product and I think it's going to be a great battle.

Riccitiello also threw Activisions Call of Duty Elite paid service in to the firing line and compared it alongside Battlefield 3's own solution Battlelog; which is to be offered freely. Scoff... who needs authenticity when you have a bouncing Throwing Knife in your arsenal!

Doh sorry, posted two articles and forgot the one link. I think the statement is probably pretty valid Call of Duty has never really been about authenticity.

Absolutely, I believe that BF3 will be more authentic, but it's good to strive to be unbiased. A better title might have been:

Are you kidding me? this is a debate? How the hell is MW3 authentic at all? No bullet drop, travel time, barley any recoil and things like that, you cant even call it authentic.

Call of duty is totally a different game from Battlefield that's why both are really good games to play. But COD always get's the kid gamers, it's a fact and rather annoying when your trying to play and you get abused by a 8 year old lol. But I am looking forward to both of the games. I would say Battlefield 3 is looking far better for online as I've not seen anything from the online for Modern Warfare 3 and no one knows how it's going to turn out.

COD MW3 will be authentic...according to Activision :P
