Battlefield 3 Beta Release Date

I think it will be released within the next upcoming weeks.

We have to wait and see. Latest rumors are that it will be released by the 28th September.

Beta starts in October

I believe it's fake, the twitter account has been deleted now.

In a dutch (in a dutch guy) article they said the open beta will be on September 29th en the early on September 27th

but not long after the post of the article there was an update of it which said the beta will be in October

I cant wait for the release so im hoping the beta will be soon

How long does a videogame beta period last? I've never participated in one. Is it like a demo you download, and can just play it at your leisure? Or do firms put caps on the amount of hours you can play it/times you can boot it up? Thanks for any help.

The release date is realistically not that far away now...DICE are just playing with us now, with no Beta in sight! After watching all the Alpha footage, it really has been difficult to pick Bad Company 2 back up.

There are no hour caps or anything like that. You just get a very limited version of the game which serves as the final test for bugs and glitches. Betas depend from one company to another. I'd say BF3's beta could last 2 weeks, but that would be the maximum length I believe.

It was a fake account, not to mention posted back in February - so fake and old.


As far as the length of Beta goes, I would expect it to be from whenever they launch it to around 2 weeks short of release. DICE previously liked to have about 2 weeks to fix any major bugs and more importantly to amp up the player numbers on release week. With that little bit of withdrawal, most people are chomping at the bit to get back into action.

And release date? 27th is likely due to London, though I think the 21st would be perfectly valid. I know people doubt it will release before London, but realize that by offering things like Co-Op gameplay, SP, or even a new map - they'll get a ton of press coverage and player lines despite people already playing the beta. Despite all of this, I have a glimmer of hope that it may be tomorrow due to the number of console beta pictures that have been making their rounds, maybe it's just the optimist in me.

The beta goes until 1 week from october 25th.
